1st Logo (1970- )[]

Logo: There's no logo for this, logo, but all I know the text. The text came up with a bunch of texts and the word "Produced at" in "black-and-yellow" text:

  • 1970-1972: "Produced at DC Superman"
  • 1972-1974, 1976-2005, 2016-present: "Produced at DC"
  • 1974-1976: "Produced at DC, the Line of Super Stars"
  • 2005-2013: "Produced at DC Comics"
  • 2013-2016: "Produced at DC Comics from DC Entertainment"

Also, the letters "DC", in a blockier fonts, zoom out of the "big screen" like the usual logo animating "itself" huh.

FX/SFX: The zoom out and the logo animation itself, as well as the usual cyan key-like flash.

Cheesy Factor: Unlike the last logos, two drawing-and-lightning effects in the background actually blend in with the usual cyan key-like flash. Also, the text "DC" appearing and zooming out looks really choppy and amateurish. When the letters "DC" zoom out, the drawing-and-lightning effects start jumping back to the same animation as when the logo began. Starting the latest years, there's no logo.

Variants:

  • After the Martin Manulis Productions logo cuts to the next one, the drawing and lightning effects start animating.
  • So anyway, How to Marry a Millionaire depicts the logo from that The One That They Used From The Present Day Off, but that's a different story now.
  • Oh wait, I see! The botton part of the Hornets the bass-ketchup-ball! I see now.

Music/Sounds:

  • 1969-1974: A rearrangement of the Mallery fanfare used on the movie variation.
  • 1971-1976: A short tune played on muted trumpets and strings that is a variation of the jingle, but does not sound exactly like a "Coke is it!" jingle.
  • 1973-1974: A shortened variant of the 1970 sound.
  • 1975-1976: A sped-up/shortened version of the 1971 sound.
  • 2005-present: The last for note of the 2002 "Coke is it!" jingle, now the last note is cut.

Availability: Rare.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (1996-December 16, 2005)[]

Nicknames: "The DC Stamp I", "The DC Bullet I"

Logo: Against either a black or white background, we see the corporate DC Comics logo in various color schemes, such as blue, black, orange, or gold.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Rare. It has hardly been seen on films or television, but appears on numerous games based on Batman (where it was first seen in 1996), Catwoman, Justice League, and Superman franchises until 2005.

Editor's Note: None.

3rd Logo (June 10, 2005-March 16, 2013)[]

Nicknames: "Dots", "The Star DC"

Logo: On a black background, we see a shining wall full of blue dots. As we zoom out, we see a close-up of someone's eye, (possibly) the Joker grinning menacingly, and a man getting punched. As the camera finishes zooming out, the letters "DC" are formed by the dots. A shooting star forms around the letters, and the words "DC COMICS" appear below the logo. The words and logo also zoom out slowly before fading out.

Variants:

  • On some films like Superman Returns, Jonah Hex, and Green Lantern, the last two images of the zoom-out portion are customized to reflect the film.
  • On some video games, no text is used.
  • At the end of some shows, the logo is still.
  • On Smallville from season 5-10, the short-lived Human Target, and various DC animated movies, the logo is shortened to the text shining.
  • On Batman Begins, the logo is in black & white.
  • On V for Vendetta, the logo is dark gray and has an old film effect to it.
  • On The Dark Knight, The logo is in a navy blue color.
  • On Watchmen, the print logo is black on a goldenrod BG, like the Warner Bros., Legendary Pictures, and Paramount versions.
  • On Watchmen: Under the Hood, the logo is in its 1976-2005 form and yellow, on a black stripe between two yellow stripes; the other logos (Warner Premiere, Paramount Pictures, and Legendary Pictures) fly in succession with the same variation.
  • On Batman: Arkham Asylum, the logo is on a dark background with some bats passing by.
  • On one of the 2011 Green Lantern franchises, the logo is tinted in yellowish-green and finishes on a space background.
  • On the game for Batman called "Arkham City", the logo in stone flies past the camera, together with other logos.
  • On Gotham City Impostors, the logo is made by yellow oil paint, while the Batman-dressed cartoon character runs below and shoots his guns.

FX/SFX: The comic panels, the star and letters coming into place; courtesy of Imaginary Forces.

Music/Sounds: A triumphant fanfare, the opening theme of the movie, or silence. Smallville (season 5 and beyond) has the beginning of the 2003 Warner Bros. Television theme before going to said logo.

Music/Sounds Variant: On Superman Returns, we hear some whooshing noises, plus some chuckling and a punching sound.

Availability: Common. Appears on DC-licensed products from 2005-13. First used on the film Batman Begins and last appeared on Green Lantern. Also appears on animated direct-to-video movies from Superman: Brainiac Attacks to Superman vs. The Elite. Unfortunately retired in mid-2012 due to legal issues.

Editor's Note: None.

4th Logo (July 16, 2012-June 23, 2016)[]

Nicknames: "Dual Identity", "Peeling D"

Logo: We see the then-new DC Comics logo, which shows a solid blue "D" letter, the edge peeled to reveal a white "C" behind. The name is arranged like this:

DC COMICS

FROM DC ENTERTAINMENT

Trivia: This logo was designed to represent the dual identity trope of the superhero genre, one identity peeling back to reveal the other.

Variants:

  • A list of custom variants were used, depending on the film or TV show.
  • On the Robot Chicken DC Comics specials, the "C" letter shows Superman and Aquaman as they appear in the specials instead of a white background.
  • On the second LEGO Batman called "LEGO Batman 2" for the Wii, the logo flies across as part of the opening sequence between the WB Games and TT Games logos.
  • On The Arrow, the logo is green, and the character face appears through it.
  • On Man of Steel, the logo is metallic steel and moves differently on a tunnel-like background.
  • The CGI version of this logo starts from the right side. While the logo shift to the front side, the "D" flip out a corner to shows the "C". Also, the colors on the logo are reversed that "D" is silver and "C" is blue.
    • On Red 2, the main color of the logo is instead by red that same to the movie theme.
  • There as another version of this logo, except the white "C" will instead of the scene from the movies for a few seconds. This version only used on DC Universe Animated Original Movie.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None, or the opening theme of the movie, or on TV series, the show's closing theme.

Music/Sounds Variant: On the Robot Chicken (DC Comics) variant, Superman (Breckin Meyer) says "Another job well done!" (a quote from a skit in the first special, where he used his "memory-erasing kiss" ability on his enemies, only to find them waiting for him with gifts at the Fortress of Solitude).

Availability: Common. Seen on DC-licensed products from 2012-16. The first movie to use this logo was The Dark Knight Rises. Also appeared on animated direct-to-video movies starting with the two-part Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and ending with Batman Unlimited: Mechs vs. Mutants, along with the three Robot Chicken DC Comics specials. The last movie to use this logo was Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It was also seen on the short-lived Beware the Batman and the first few seasons of Teen Titans Go! on Cartoon Network until "Think About Your Future".

Editor's Note: None.

5th Logo (May 17, 2016, May 25, 2016, June 30, 2016- )[]

Nickname: "The New DC Stamp", "DC Rebirth Logo"

Logo: On the black background, we see the blue-outlined, black circle with the big letters "DC' inside.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: No theme music. All appearance of the logo has the music from the series or movies cross it.

Availability: Current. First appeared on the Teen Titans Go! episode "TTG V. PPG", and it eventually began regular use on "Riding the Dragon" and the week-long Island Adventures event.

Scare Factor: None.

6th Logo (May 25-June 2, 2017, June 11, 2017, June 30, 2017- )[]

Nickname: "DC's Iconic Expanded Universe Superheroes" (before 2019), "DC Rebirth CGI Logo"

Logo: The orange light glows in to reveal Batman with the spinning Batarang. The camera pans right as the Batarang transitions to Superman in the sky. It transitions to Wonder Woman with her Lasso of Truth which also transitions to Aquaman. The camera zooms out from him to Cyborg. From the background, The Flash's superspeed twirls in to reveal himself running which transitions to Green Lantern using the lantern which glows. It cuts to the aforementioned superheroes, as well as other heroes & villians, in the line of the Justice League in the which the camera zooms out from them which reveals the DC Stamp from before in blue gradient. It fades out.

Variant:

  • A short version of this logo appears on all theatrical film based on DC Comics.

And now, it's time for the request...

Warner Bros. Television Group/20th Animation

Requests from:

  • 20th Animation (1999- ) by AnimationEpic

Warner Bros. Television Group[]

Let's start with Warner Bros. Television Group. There's no short bio for this, so let's get straight into the history.

(March 2, 2021- )[]

Nicknames: "Television WB Shield X", "Shield of Staleness VIII", "Television CGI Shield IV", "Television Shield in the Sky IX", "Television AT&T Shield", "Rotating WB Shield II"

Logo: Same as the 2021 theatrical logo, except the shield zooms in slowly similarly to the previous logo as a lens flare shines over it. "WARNER BROS." is seen in white below the shield in the same font used on the company's print logo, Warner Bros. Sans. "TELEVISION" is seen below in a more basic font of the same font family. The WarnerMedia byline is also seen below.

Trivia: This marks the first time since the 2001 logo that a company byline has appeared on the logo. Also, this fanfare debuted before its movie counterpart later made its first appearance on Non Mi Uccidere, which debuted on April 21, 2021 in Italy.

Variants:

  • Depending on how long this logo is shown on screen, the size of this logo varies. The 2-second and 1.5 second versions of this logo have the logo appear closer.
  • A widescreen 18:9 version of the logo exists.
  • On Lisey's Story, the colors are more vivid.
  • On the second season of Ted Lasso, the colors are darker.
  • There's an opening variant where the shield zooms out and rotates upwards like the previous logo and then shines. The company name and byline fade in afterwards. The entire logo zooms out during this process. This can also appear as a closing logo.

FX/SFX: The shield zooming in and the lens flare, taken from the theatrical logo by Devastudios. Also, like its movie counterpart, the sky and clouds were done using Terragen from Planetside Software. For the opening variant, it's the same as the previous logo.

Music/Sounds: The final note of the 2021 theatrical logo's fanfare, which debuted on the Young Sheldon Season 4 episode "Cowboy Aerobics and 473 Grease-Free Bolts" which first aired on March 4, 2021.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo is silent, the closing theme of the show, or using the network respective generic themes.
  • On one episode of Mom, three episodes of Shameless, one episode of Prodigal Son (warp-speed theme), Delilah on OWN, the third season of The Kominsky Method on Netflix, and a few episodes of All American, the 2003 fanfare is heard.
  • Starting with the Riverdale/Katy Keene crossover episode "Chapter Eighty-Three: Fire in the Sky" (which first aired on March 10, 2021), the final note of the middle section of the new fanfare is used, which has the same chord as the main fanfare, with strings on it. We hear a "ding" when the lens flare appears. This is only heard on the short 2-second and 1.5-second versions of this logo.
  • In the opening variant, the same whoosh sounds from the previous logo can be heard.

Availability: Brand new. It made its first appearance on the Prodigal Son Season 2 episode "Face Value" which first aired on March 2, 2021. The opening variant made its debut at the beginning of season 3 of The Kominsky Method, and it also appears as a closing variant at the end of said season, using the 2003 fanfare. This logo is expected to be seen on future shows from the company.

Editor's Note: The fanfare in this logo as well as the end bit of the theatrical logo makes this a winner. It should also be noted that the fanfare debuted on television a month before the movie logo followed suit.
